Description: The California Department of Public Health defines chlamydia as “a common sexually transmitted infection caused by a bacterium called Chlamydia trachomatis. Infection is often without symptoms, and if not treated, can cause serious reproductive health problems such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and infertility. Chlamydia also can cause infections in newborn babies. Tests and effective treatments are available.” Here we report 2011 chlamydia rates for females age 15 to 19 per 100,000 population. Raw data were obtained from http://www.cdph.ca.gov/data/statistics/Documents/STD-Data-LHJ-DataSummaries-All.pdf. The notation of -99 means that the number of cases was suppressed for confidentiality.

For more information or to download the data, please see the Data/Metadata section of the website.
